Huntingdon Boat Club came away with eight wins at the Ironbridge Regatta held over the weekend of June 24/25.
The course was 1,000m on the Saturday and 500m on Sunday. Four of the wins came from Libby Jackson in the Womens J16 single sculls, beating Burton Leander on the Saturday and Monmouth on Sunday in the finals.
Jackson also doubled up with Evie Ray in the Women’s J16 double sculls on the Saturday winning against AB Severn Boat Club in the final and then with Ivia Pigg on the Sunday beating City of Bristol.
Another win came from Edward Adams in Open Masters A/B single sculls on the Saturday – Sunday he teamed up with Luke Bacon, Mark Smith and Iain Rickerby to win Open fours with Alice Ray coxing.
The crew they beat in the final was another Huntingdon Men’s 4 – Dan Fazackerley, Maksim Marjanovic, Joe Hardman, Tom Starling coxed by Patrick Foy.
This crew missed out on a win Saturday getting beaten by Runcorn – Daniel Grant coxed.
Both 4’s got together in the Open 8’s events losing in the final on Saturday but winning Sunday beating Bridgnorth, both days coxed by Evie Andrew.
Also winning on Saturday was Noah Scott-Donkin and Daniel Grant in J15 double sculls against Stourport. Sunday Scott-Donkin teamed up with Jack Bennett J15, Grant rowed with Tom Hancock in J14 double scull, both crews making it to the finals.
Hancock, Grant and Bennett all raced their singles on Sunday with Hancock making the final but losing out to Burton Leander.
Also racing both days were Alice Ray, Louise Bocking, Louise Hinkley and Emily Warren-Barratt coxed by Isabella Dovey in Womens Open 4s, winning their first round on Saturday and then having to re-row against Trafford in the semi finals as it was a dead heat – another close race but Trafford just got the win.
Louise Hinkley and Evie Andrew teamed up both days in Women’s Double sculls making the final on Saturday but losing in the semi finals Sunday.
Ross O’Kane and Patrick Foy raced in J16 Double Sculls both days, O’Kane also raced in his single scull; Isabella Dovey was in women’s J15 single sculls on Sunday, picking it up towards the finish and coming back on Pengwern Boat Club but just missing out on progressing to the next round.
Toby Ray and Joe Manchett single sculled both days with really close racing, they also teamed up to race open double sculls losing by half a length to Trent Rowing club.
