Little Paxton Parish Council has transformed redundant Royal Mail collection boxes in both of the village's play parks to create book swap boxes for children.
The change forms part of the parish council's latest upcycling initiative.
Parish Clerk Jenny Gellatly said: "Children can enjoy reading books in the park or take them home to read.
"If they have books at home that they would like to share with other children, they can be pop them in the box.
"We would like to thank our Groundsman Giles Buchanan for working his magic to create something special for the children's play parks."
St Neots Royal Mail Delivery Office granted the Council permission to use two of its mail collection boxes as they were no longer in use.
The grey metal boxes were relocated from Eaton Socon Green, repainted with bright colours and had new cabinet doors and shelves fitted.
The council then stocked the boxes with several new books and opened them up for the children to use.
