Pupils at Huntingdon Primary School will celebrate the arrival of more than 200 new books this week in time for World Book Day.
The school acquired the books after receiving a charitable £5,000 donation from the Foyles Foundation.
Headteacher Elaine Lynch said: “We are very grateful to the Foyles Foundation for their wonderful donation, which has allowed the school to purchase a fantastic and diverse range of literature which will greatly benefit the children for years to come”.
The books have arrived in time for World Book Day on March 3 and will be used to reinvigorate the library spaces available in each year group and benefit all 400 children in the school.
The school’s team of English Experts (a group of pupils who champion reading and writing) have been busy sorting through the wonderful selection of books, getting them ready for the children to enjoy.
A vast range of books were chosen, including those exploring the theme of diversity, foreign language books, poetry and graphic novels.
