The driver of the car, a 19-year-old from St Neots, suffered minor injuries and was later arrested by police and bailed to appear later at Parkside police station in Cambridge on September 12.

Two passengers in the car, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were uninjured.

Mr Pinney’s family said on Monday: “We are deeply saddened and hurt by the loss of a wonderful man.

“Anthony was a retired painter and decorator who was a very keen fisherman and photographer.
