People turned out in force across Huntingdonshire to pay their respects to all who served and gave their lives for their country during Remembrance Sunday services on November 13.

Several towns held wreath-laying ceremonies, parades and a two-minute silence to reflect and honour fallen servicemen and women.

Huntingdon

Huntingdon's Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade took place on the Market Square and featured "another fabulous turnout".

Hundreds of residents attended the service and parade, which was led by the RAF Wyton Area Voluntary Band and a contingent from RAF Wyton.

A spokesperson for RAF Wyton said on Facebook: "It was great to see so many in both the parade and supporting this important occasion."

The mayor of Huntingdon, Cllr David Landon Cole, said: "Remembrance Sunday is one of those special days in the calendar when everyone comes together to mark the sacrifices that our armed forces and their families have made and continue to make for us all.

"I was really pleased that so many people chose to come into town to join the act of remembrance and pause for two minutes, lest we forget.

"My thanks go to everyone who attended, whether in the parade, laying a wreath, or joining in the ceremony, and particularly RAF Wyton, the RAF Wyton Area Voluntary Band, and everyone who worked so hard to make the day a success."

Godmanchester

The Town Council held its annual Remembrance Day parade from 10.30-11.30am.

The Civic party processed from the Town Hall car park to the War Memorial on Post Street, where a short service was held for all.

Ramsey

In Ramsey, the Royal British Legion Ramsey District helped to organise a parade from the Abbey Gateway to the war memorial, followed by wreath laying and service in Thomas A Becket C of E Church.

The Hunts Post:

This was the first Remembrance Sunday service held at the refurbished War Memorial.

The service was very well supported by many groups and members of the public, including Girlguiding groups in Ramsey, the Ramsey Women's Institute and more.

The mayor of Ramsey, Cllr Roger Brereton, said: "It was lovely to see so many people at the Remembrance Service this afternoon."

Eaton Socon

A service took place at St Mary's Church in Eaton Socon, led by the Rev Timothy Robb.

After the service, wreaths were laid at the war memorial on Eaton Socon Green.

The Last Post was played, and there were prayers offered.

St Neots

In St Neots, a parade took place through the high street in the morning which halted at Church Street for a church service.

After the service, there was a congregation at the war memorial with acts of remembrance, a two-minute silence and then a laying of the wreaths.

Mayor of St Neots, Cllr Ben Pitt, said: "It was humbling to see such a huge turnout on Sunday ⁠— in the Remembrance Day parade, lining the High Street, at the Church service and gathered at our War Memorials.

"The Armed Forces have a deep connection to the people of St Neots.

Warboys

The 1st Warboys Scout Group attended a Remembrance service with Rainbows, Brownies and Veterans on November 13.

The scout group met in full uniform and paraded to the war memorial for a short service before continuing the parade along the High Street to the Church of St Mary Magdalene for the main remembrance service.
