A St Neots-based amateur dramatics group is inviting other community organisations to audition for an upcoming variety show.
VAMPS had planned to stage Calendar Girls the Musical in the spring – but it can no longer go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances.
So the team will stage a variety show instead and other groups in the area are invited to take part in “VAMPS Hosts St Neots Fringe”.
Auditions will take place tomorrow (Tuesday, January 17) and on Thursday (January 19) at St Neots Priory Center from 7:30pm.
VAMPS spokesperson Katie Kitson said: “It’s such a shame we can’t pull off Calendar Girls the Musical – but, as the old saying kind of goes... 'a show must still go on'.
“It will now be a variety show, so we’re looking at offering a platform for a wide range of performers from circus skills to martial arts demonstrations.
“Due to the space available at the theatre, each act can be made up of around five people.”
The show itself will run from March 30 to April 1. Local groups that would like to take part can email social@thevamps.org.
All profits from the show will go towards the Hunts Community Cancer Network, which VAMPS fundraised for last year with a nude charity calendar.
