A burglar has been jailed after he was identified on doorbell footage.
Kevin Eastwood, 45, of no fixed abode, walked into a home in Beaufort Drive, Buckden, in the early hours of November 7 2021, and was heard by the occupants rummaging through the cupboards.
When he was challenged by the owner of the property, Eastwood made off with a bottle of rum, a bottle of gin and two pairs of headphones.
The occupant called police and also notified residents on a local Facebook page of the burglary.
As a result, one of his neighbours checked their doorbell footage and found Eastwood had attempted to open his front door and made contact with the home owners.
Using the images from the camera, police were able to identify Eastwood and he was found with some of the stolen items.
Eastwood was sentenced to 587 days in prison at Huntingdon Law Courts on January 18 after pleading guilty to burglary and attempted burglary.
PC Andy Smith, who investigated, said: “Thanks to the CCTV images from the neighbouring property we were able to identify Eastwood and put him before the courts."
