The Huntingdon in Bloom group has announced it has been selected as a finalist for Britain in Bloom 2023, the UK’s largest community gardening competition, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Following a successful campaign in 2022 where Huntingdon was awarded gold, the regional Anglia in Bloom campaign has nominated in the Large Town category for the national competition.
Groups will be judged against criteria with the environment, community engagement and horticulture at its core. Britain in Bloom judges will visit each of the 44 finalists during the summer months.
Then the winners of each category will be announced at an awards ceremony which will take place in the Autumn.
Work on the 2023 campaign is already well underway and upcoming projects will include community planting days, litter picks and best kept garden competitions.
There are also re-wilding and sustainable planting projects, gardening groups and the impressive 3D floral displays that have helped to put Huntingdon on the map.
Huntingdon In Bloom has said it is always looking for volunteers and local groups that would like to be more actively involved with keeping the town looking bright, safe and welcoming.
