Community radio cannot exist without the help of volunteers who willingly give their time to the many stations across the UK and here at HCR104fm, we are very lucky to have such a band of members whose talents cover a range of skills.
However, we are always on the lookout for more to join us.
Some of you may already know of the King’s Festival of Volunteering due to take place on the bank holiday Monday, May 8 after the Coronation on May 6.
Whilst that is specific to the Coronation, it certainly does show that there are many people who will continue to help out the many charities over the following months and hopefully years.
We know there are many local folk out there who will have a passion for helping the many charities in our area and if you have an interest in radio, whether it be research, production, presenting, fund raising, joining our Friends of HCR group.
The ways you can get in touch are by checking out our website www.hcrfm.co.uk/joinus or drop our station manager an email at bill.hensley@hcrfm.co.uk
There is no upper age limit as we currently have volunteers in their seventies and eighties, but you do need to be over the age of 18.
Two of our hard working volunteers present our Family Favourites show which airs every Sunday at midday.
Dave Shepherd and Lee Blake present the show and this is our main request show and Lee is a ‘diamond’ - procuring requests through the week by various means in all weathers, and collating and preparing the show.
Please do give them a listen and if you want to hear your favourite song or dedicate it to that special person, give Dave and Lee a ring between 12pm and 1.45pm on Sundays or email: studio@hcrfm.co.uk
It’s your music, your voice, your station! Thank you for listening and supporting us.
