The founder of Diamond Hampers in Huntingdon enjoyed afternoon tea with King Charles on May 3 at a Royal Garden party.
Lianne Simpson was chosen as one of 500 people across the UK to receive a Coronation Champion Award and have afternoon tea with the King and other members of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace.
She attended the garden party, which ran from 4pm until 6pm, alongside her husband Lee Simpson.
Speaking about the day, Lianne said: “I was incredibly honoured to have not only been nominated to receive such a prestigious award but overwhelmed to have been chosen as one of 500 people from the 5,000 nominations across the UK.
“I was one of eight people in Cambridgeshire to have been chosen.”
The Coronation Champion Awards were given to volunteers who have been recognised for their outstanding voluntary work as part of the celebrations for the Coronation of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Those who received the award have really helped to make a big change and difference in their communities.
“I couldn’t do this without my incredible team at my side and I want to thank for everything they do,” said Lianne.
