A drug dealer caught in his car with a crack pipe on his lap has been jailed.

Gordon Law, 41, was spotted by police officers at just after midnight on May 18, 2021 parked in McDonald’s at Caxton Gibbett in a black Toyota Aygo.

One of the officers approached the car, which had its lights on and engine running, and saw the pipe, along with some residue, on Law’s lap.

Law was very drowsy and when he realised it was the police, he knocked a yellow Kinder Egg container onto the floor, which was found to contain class A drugs.

A search of the car uncovered £250 in cash, further crack pipes, burnt foil and a Samsung smartphone, which contained evidence of drug dealing.

Cocaine, with an estimated street value of between £240 and £600, and £50 to £60-worth of heroin, was also found in the car.

While on police bail, Law came to officers’ attention again on March 11 last year in Coxon's Close, Huntingdon.

As an officer went to speak to Law, but he reversed at speed but was blocked by a second police car.

Law drove at the officer and another police car was used to prevent him from running the officer over.

He escaped by mounting the kerb and driving at high speed into American Lane before abandoning the car in Buttsgrove Way and running off. After a foot chase, Law was arrested in Pembroke Road.

On April 30 last year, while still on police bail, Law was stopped by an officer in Brampton Road, Huntingdon.

On Thursday, May 4, at Peterborough Crown Court, Law, of Ouse Road, St Ives, was jailed for two years and five months, having pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, two counts of driving with no insurance, two counts of driving a car otherwise than in accordance with a licence, dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.

He was also disqualified from driving for two years and three months.
