The Rotary Club of St Neots St Mary's have appointed its first lady president since the club's formation in 1985.

Former president, Steve McCallion, handed over the presidency to Sue Shaw at St Neots Golf Club on June 27, with her period of office officially starting on Saturday, July 1.

After becoming the first lady president at the club in 37 years, Sue said: "I'm delighted to be able to lead our members and support my chosen charity this year, the Property Angels Foundation.

"Rotary is a mixture of supporting our community and enjoying common interests. It's great fun, and I look forward to introducing new members to what we do and who we help."

Sue joined the club in 2018 with her husband Richard, having previously been a Rotarian in the Rotary Club of Hunstanton, holding various roles.

Alongside supporting the Property Angels Foundation, which supports families affected by domestic abuse, Sue hopes the club's extensive activities and fundraising events will encourage more ladies to enter the world of Rotary.
