A youth development charity working across Cambridgeshire has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Peterborough.
Romsey Mill works with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people aged from 10-21, creating opportunities with them to develop and engage in positive and creative activities, participate in youth leadership programmes and residentials, and inspire change.
The donation from Amazon will go towards the cost of the various trips and activities that Romsey Mill’s youth workers will plan with the young people over the summer months, helping to create enjoyable experiences and positive memories.
Speaking about the donation, Gareth Davies, general manager at Amazon in Peterborough, said: "Romsey Mill Youth Development makes a great difference in the lives of many people in the community.
"Their dedication to promoting social inclusion is outstanding. I’m glad Amazon could lend a helping hand with this donation.”
Neil Perry, Romsey Mill’s chief executive, said: “Thank you to Gareth and the team at Amazon in Peterborough for this donation.
"Their support is hugely appreciated and will help us continue to develop new projects and plan activities with young people in Peterborough and across Cambridgeshire, during the summer months, a time when most of them would not otherwise be able to enjoy holidays or days out with their families.”
