Councillors and Royal British Legion members attended a ceremony in St Ives to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the armistice that ended hostilities in the Korean War.
Led by town mayor, Councillor Philip Pope, members of St Ives Town Council and St Ives Royal British Legion held a short service at St Ives War Memorial on July 27.
81,000 British military personnel served in the Korean theatre of operations and 1,106 British troops died in action.
Among those who served was St Ivian, Raymond George Elliott, who was wounded in action but, fortunately, made a full recovery.
For health reasons, he was not able to attend the service.
