A 20-year-old March woman may have died from inhaling chemicals found in lighter fluid, a coroner has revealed.
Ruby Williams died earlier this year on March 10 and an inquest has been opened into her death.
At the brief hearing, David Heming, the senior coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, said the medical cause of death “is very much provisional at this stage”.
He went on to say Miss Williams’ death is likely to be related to chemical inhalation and severe liver damage.
The hearing was held at Peterborough Town Hall on July 27.
Miss William’s provisional cause of death was formally given as “1A Propane, Isobutane and N-butane inhalation to cirrhosis and severe steatosis of the liver”.
After adjourning the inquest, Mr Heming said: “I want to express my sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased for their loss.”
The full inquest will be heard at a later date.
