Plans have been approved for a new dental surgery which will be located in Hartford
The application sought permission from Huntingdon District Council to convert a bungalow into a dental surgery at 33 Main Street.
The dentist’s surgery will have two treatment rooms and is expected to have four team members.
The planning statement said: "The site intends to providetwo short stay bike store places at an entrance of the site and four long-stay bike store places in the former garage structure."
The applicant said: "I intend to cycle or walk to the workplace and staff living close by will be encouraged to do the same.
“The patient base will be primarily drawn from the surrounding area and the majority of patients will be able to walk or cycle to the practice.
"In addition, for those patients who travel from further afield, off-street parking is available at the riverside's pay-and-display car park which is a 15 minute walk away from the proposed practice, and at the Church Lane car park which is five minutes walk away.
On-street parking is available on the Lark Crescent and Arundel Road, both of which are within easy walking distance of the practice. Furthermore, both sites are linked to the Main Street by footpath; Lark Crescent via School Lane. There is a good bus link from nearby villages with the stop.”
It also proposes changes to vehicular access including widening the road of the vehicular access to 3.6m and to provide three car parking spaces at the rear of the property.
The application received some resistance form neighbours who welcomed a new dentists for the region but said “the location isn’t the best”, adding that it would put an additional strain on “parking concerns for the area”.
Following consultation and recommendations form the parish council and the county highways authority, the plans were approved.
