Sixth Form students and staff at St Ivo Academy in St Ives, part of Astrea Academy Trust, are celebrating today (August 17) after receiving outstanding A-level, BTEC and vocational results.
Despite the impact of the pandemic still being felt in schools across the country, the St Ivo students have achieved an "excellent set of results" and are now ready to step into the future.
Many pupils have accepted places at the Russell Group Universities and secured spots on prestigious apprenticeships.
Top St Ivo student results:
- Daniel Balaam: A*A*A* - University of Oxford to study engineering.
- Noah Lattimer: A*AA - University of Southampton to study chemistry.
- Oliver Parker: AAA - University of Nottingham to study veterinary medicine.
- Eve Ranner: AAA - University of York to study languages and history.
- Elsa Knott: AAB - University of Sheffield to study history, modern languages and culture.
- Dougie McKee: AAA - University of Newcastle to study maths.
- Saleh Rashid: A*AB - taking a gap year for work and travel, will then go to university the year after.
'We are all so proud'
Tony Meneaugh, the interim principal at St Ivo from September, said: "I am sure I echo the feelings of the school's staff in congratulating the 2023 cohort on their fantastic results.
"We are all so proud of these students and their achievements, and I know their futures will be very bright.
"I look forward to September when I will have the opportunity to support the new Year 13 and work with their teachers to continue to drive forward improvement at St Ivo Academy."
