A free second-hand children’s book event is being held at Alconbury Memorial Hall on Saturday October 14 between 10am and 1pm.
Organised by Helen Foster, Storybook Village will allow children to choose up to 10 books to keep, completely free of charge.
Suitable for 0-11 year olds, a story will also be read aloud at 11am and 12pm.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and all adults must be accompanied by a child. Traders are not welcome.
The venue is wheelchair-accessible and has an accessible toilet. It is also accessible for pushchairs and has baby-changing facilities. Free parking is available in the hall car park.
The event can only run on donations.
Book donations can be dropped off anytime at 25 Highfield Avenue, Alconbury Weston.
There are also two drop-off times at Alconbury Memorial Hall: Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 October, from 2.30pm-4pm.
For those who wish to leave a donation for their books, which is voluntary and not compulsory, there will be a box available for the Living Paintings Trust.
The charity provides ‘touch to see’ books for children and adults with sight impairments.
