Cambridgeshire has a number of pumpkin patches to visit during the weeks leading up to Halloween, but here is a list of some of the best locations to pick that all-important pumpkin before October 31.
- Rusty’s Great Pumpkin Patch at Worzals – Wisbech
Rusty's Great Pumpkin Patch is returning for 2023 - bigger and better than ever! Families can expect over 60,000 pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, electric tractor race track, scavenger hunt plus lots of beautiful Autumnal photo opportunities and fun for all.
The pumpkin patch will be open from October 7-31 with late night openings every Thursday and Friday until 8pm.
Tickets cost £3.50 per person excluding booking fee and childer under one go free.
- Pumpkins at Freshfields – Ramsey
Located along the Ramsey Forty Foot, Freshfields Farm is very well known for its array of pumpkin patches where individuals can experience picking their own pumpkins all the way up until Halloween.
The farm is extremely popular for families with young children from the surrounding area to have a Halloween inspired day out.
If you’re planning to visit Freshfields this year, the farm is open October 7-8,14-15 and October 20-31.
Entry is free and the site is open 10am-5pm with no booking required.
- Skylark Maize Maze and Funyard – Week of Wickedness - Wimblington
Skylark is hosting a ‘Week of Wickedness’ this year for Halloween running from October 21 until October 29.
You can pick your own pumpkin, carve it and watch a spooky magic show.
Skylark recommends booking in advance to guarantee a spot for the day.
Under three’s go free, Children (three-14) are £15 online (£16 on the gate), adults (15+) are £13 online (£14 on the gate), and a family (two adults, two children OR one adults, three children) is £54 online (£58 on the gate).
- Milton Maize Maze, Rectory Farm, Milton
With over 30,000 pumpkin seeds planted, visitors to this pumpkin patch should have a choice of over 60,000 pumpkins to choose from!
Located just four miles from Cambridge, this site is definitely one for the gram!
There will be tiny, warty, orange, white and monster pumpkins available, as well as a variety of Instagram opportunities (see, we told you!) around the site with colourful displays of pumpkins and squash.
Adult and child admission prices to the patch are £8 each and children two years and under can enter the patch free of charge.
Pumpkins range from 75p-£10 depending on size.
The opening date for this pumpkin patch has not yet been released so make sure to check back for updates.
- Cuckoo Bridge Pick Your Own Pumpkins – Somersham
This years pumpkin patch has been described as bigger and better. Tickets are £3.00 per person for entry. Children under the age of three go free.
Once again, Cuckoo Bridge aims to create a fun day out for all your family and friends, whilst having the opportunity to pick a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds grown from the fields in time for Halloween.
Cuckoo Bridge also provides a range of other fun activities for all the family.
- Hill Farm Pick Your Own - Peterborough
Hill Farm has been growing and selling pumpkins for about 25 years.
This year, the farm has grown 23 different varieties of pumpkin ranging in size, colour, texture and taste.
The patch has been open since Septembe 30. Booking is not required.
Opening hours are Tues -Sat 10-5pm, Sun 10-4pm, Closed Mondays.
- Fairview Events Pumpkin Patch - Emneth - Wisbech
The pumpkin patch opens on October 6 and it is the size of three football pitches with over 50,000 pumpkins to choose from!
It will be open to the public every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm and every day throughout October half term.
You can pick your pumpkins from either an indoor our outdoor patch.
Booking is not required.
- Homefields Plant Centre PYO Pumpkins
Opened on October 7 and is based in Catworth, near Kimbolton. The patch is open every weekend in October plus all of half term.
All of the pumpkins have been grown on site and some lovely photo stations have been set up so customers can take their own great pictures!
It’s a simple set up with a toilet on site and lots of different colours and sizes of pumpkins and squashes. It’s free entry and there is plenty of parking.
