An adverse reaction to a bee sting is being given as the provisional cause of death for a 53-year-old woman.
An inquest has been opened into the death of Lindsey Collecott, who died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on October 4.
David Heming, the Senior Coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, explained the cause was “provisionally an adverse reaction to a bee sting”.
He said: “I, of course, express my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of the deceased on their loss.”
The brief hearing was heard at Peterborough Town Hall on Thursday (October 12).
It was not revealed where Mrs Collecott was from, nor where the incident happened.
The matter has now been adjourned for a date to be arranged by the Cambridgeshire coroner’s office.
