St Neots Swans Swimming Club is riding the crest of a wave with huge success in recent competitions.
With the summer break well and in truly in their wake, swimmers from St Neots and surrounding area have been winning medals galore, smashing records and motoring into finals.
At last weekends Harpenden (Bryan Thompson Legacy) Open Meet, Swans swimmers brought home 16 gold, nine silver and five bronze gongs and achieved 53 new personal bests.
One of the St Neots squad, Josh Needham, is three hundredths of a second away from achieving a time which could see him qualify for the England Squad for his age group.
"It's been a sensational start to the new season", said St Neots Swans head coach Andrea Gilbert.
"We are taking teams to meets that are larger than ever before. And in those teams we have a larger number of quality swimmers across all age groups.
"The coaching team have been working very hard at supporting our swimmers with perfecting their strokes.
"And our swim school has been feeding new talent into the lower age groups.
"We're delighted with how things are progressing."
Swans have their own club championships on the horizon and are booked to compete in more competitions, including the very popular Newmarket Winter Meet.
