A volunteer group welcomed leading menopause experts to give a talk at an awareness event in order to raise funds for the Papworth Trust
Purple Horizons, a dedicated volunteer group committed to raising funds for the Trust, hosted the 'ladies health and wellness evening' on October 12 as part of National Menopause Awareness Month.
The evening saw an impressive line-up of guest speakers, led by the renowned Dr Imogen Shaw, a prominent figure in the field of menopause.
Dr Shaw, whose expertise has graced television screens, radio waves, and national newspapers, co-authored the influential 2015 NICE guidelines for managing menopause and has penned a comprehensive book on the subject for GPs.
Sharing the stage with Dr Shaw was Dr Rosie Atterton, an experienced GP with a lifelong commitment to women's health.
These distinguished speakers were joined by a panel of experts covering various facets of menopause, including exercise, nutrition, counselling, hair loss, and a holistic approach to managing this life transition.
Sarah Miller, chief executive officer at the Papworth Trust, said: “The evening was superb, excellent speakers and panel members who dedicated their time and expertise.
"On behalf of Papworth Trust, an enormous thank you to everyone; the speakers and panel members, everyone who attended and of course, the fantastic Purple Horizons group, all monies raised make such a positive difference to the lives of disabled people.”
