Roman Heini, chief of HH Holdings (which owns Woolworth Germany) has said that he wants to expand Woolworths internationally, and the UK is on his "bucket list".
The news of a potential Woolworths return comes less than a year after the collapse of fellow high street giant, Wilko.
Woolworths is perhaps best known for its iconic 'pick n mix' aisle as well as stocking some bargains.
However, the iconic retailer suffered major economic downturn in the early 2000s and vanished from our high streets.
Woolworth Germany and HH Holdings said that it was "unable to confirm any plans for Woolworth to return to the UK market", but that a return is not entirely off the cards.
