A busy Peterborough road is partially closed this afternoon due to a fire involving a lorry trailer.
The A1139 is shut westbound between Stanground and Hampton following the incident.
Police confirmed that they were called to the A1139 Fletton Parkway at about 2.15pm today (Monday April 8).
The fire service are at the scene and the road is currently blocked.
Officers are advising people to use alternative routes.
A Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 2.08pm crews from Stanground, Dogsthorpe and Ramsey along with the north roaming fire engine were called to a lorry trailer on fire on A1139 Fletton Parkway Westbound.
"Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters are working hard using hose reels to tackle the fire and good progress is being made.
"A road closure is in place while the incident is being dealt with.
"People are urged to take care and avoid the area if travelling in the city.
"We hope to have everything cleared as soon as possible."
