Pupils and staff are celebrating at Huntingdon Primary School, as it recently achieved a "Good" Ofsted report.

The report rated personal development at the school as Outstanding.

The quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management, and Early Years provision, were all rated by Ofsted as Good.

Ofsted praised the pupils at Huntingdon Primary School, saying that: "Pupils respect each other and value the school's culture of celebration irrespective of who you are.

"They (pupils) speak enthusiastically  about their learning, and they like the fact that staff are ambitious about what they can achieve."

The school was described as an "inclusive school" full of happy pupils, that is "proud of the sense of care and community that permeates the school."

Ofsted also noted the "carefully planned" Early Years curriculum and observed a high quality of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

"Owing to the helpful training they receive, staff have an expert understanding of how to work with pupils. The use of bespoke programmes helps pupils to be successful at school."

Elaine Lynch, Headteacher at Huntingdon Primary School, said: "I am incredibly proud of the achievement of our team in attaining this fantastic result."

The Ofsted praise didn't end there, as it also credited the work of the team at the school in dealing with bullying.

It said that poor behaviour is not accepted at the school, and as a result, the students behave well.

The report found that pupils at Huntingdon Primary School feel confident that they can go to members of staff if they have any worries.

The pupils also trust adults in the school to deal with any incidents of bullying if it ever occurs.
