Cambridgeshire police officers decided to stop a BMW and an Audi driving in convoy and made a shock discovery.
The two cars caught the attention of officers on the B1040 just before 2am on Monday (May 6).
The vehicles were stopped near Eltisley, after checks revealed that the cars were from the Birmingham area.
Five men were found in the cars, who struggled to explain why they were in the Huntingdonshire area.
They claimed that they were "bored".
Members of the force also managed to find pairs of gloves, balaclavas, crowbars, baseball bats, hammers and knives inside the cars.
They also found sport equipment, including a golf club, and several altered licence plates.
All five men have been arrested of going equipped, and they've been released on conditional bail.
