A 23-year-old from Great Paxton has been jailed as part of Operation Hypernova, which saw police officers dismantle drug lines in Cambridgeshire.

Callum English, who lived on Luddington Close, Great Paxton, had his home raided on February 6.

The raid came after Cambridgeshire Police officers suspected that he ran the 'Jay' and 'Mitch' drug lines.

Officers found a sim card and two mobile phones in his bedroom, which linked him to the county lines.

He was arrested and charged as part of Operation Hypernova 2.0, which saw 51 county lines dismantled and 33 people charged with 93 drug and human trafficking offences.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (15 May), English was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and activating a previous suspended sentence.

Detective Constable Jeremy Turner, who investigated, said: “English is the latest drug dealer to be taken off the streets of Cambridgeshire as part of this operation to make the county hostile towards county lines drug dealers and prevent further exploitation of young and vulnerable people.

“We hope this sentence sends out a message that drug dealing won’t be tolerated in our county.”
