The team behind a new reservoir planned for the Fens is hosting a series of public events to present its latest proposals to the public.

The proposed reservoir is located between Chatteris and March, close to Wimblington and Manea, and around the same size of Grafham Water.

Anglian Water and Cambridge Water say the scheme will “help meet the growing demands on water supply in the East of England”.

Water from the River Nene, via the Middle Level system, the Ouse Washes and the River Great Ouse will be transferred to the reservoir.

Then treated water will be sent to water supplies in Downham Market, Bluntisham and Madingley.

The vast project – a partnership between Anglian Water and Cambridge Water - has now reached its second phase of public consultation.

And residents from across Cambridgeshire and into Norfolk have been invited to see how the proposals are shaping up.
