More than 2,000 homes have been affected by a power cut in Huntingdonshire this morning (July 3).
A loud explosion was reported in Eaton Socon at around 7am this morning, and 2,690 properties were affected by a large power cut afterwards, as per a UK Power Networks update.
The spokesperson confirmed that some properties have got their power back, but more than 700 were still without power at 7:30am.
The UK Power Networks website states: "We're investigating a high voltage overhead electricity line fault which has caused a power cut in the local area."
A spokesperson for UK Power Networks told The Hunts Post: "Our engineers were called to a fault on a piece of equipment on the overhead electricity network in St Neots at 6.49am today (July 3).
"A total of 794 customers lost power. It was returned in stages with the final seven customers getting their power back just before 10am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
