An inquest has been opened into the death of a Peterborough motorcyclist who died after an incident on the A1198 Papworth Everard Bypass.
Paul Istead, 53, was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with two cars travelling in the opposite direction.
He sustained fatal injuries following the incident on June 19, 2024. Paramedics confirmed he was deceased at around 5:40pm.
Mr Istead, of Victory Avenue, was also following a blue Yamaha motorcycle at the time.
At the time, police said the Yamaha motorcyclist and the drivers of the two other vehicles were not injured.
An inquest was opened into his death at Lawrence Court, in Huntingdon, on Thursday (July 4).
The matter has been fixed for a resumed hearing on December 2, 2024 before area coroner Simon Milburn.
At the brief hearing, Caroline Jones, an area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, said: “I adjourn this matter and extend my condolences to family of Mr Istead.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage, or believes they saw the vehicles in the build-up to what happened should contact police.
