More than 12,000 people flocked to the award-winning St Neots Festival at the weekend (July 6-7).

The Festival took place in Priory Park and was full of food, drinks and entertainment. There was plenty of activities for everyone to take part in, even during the drizzly spells of rain.

On the Sunday, the Neotists (the organisers of St Neots Festival) took the tough decision to suspend activities and entertainment while a patch of lightning passed through the park.

However within 10 minutes everything was back up and running, with attendees quick to credit the Neotists for their hard work in getting everything going smoothly again.

The stormy weather didn't get the people of St Neots down though, as the festival hit a turn out of 12,558 people across the two days.

The St Neots Festival was a free event, so the Neotists put together a Crowdfunder for people to support them. Unfortunately they didn't hit their £10,000 target by the end of the Festival, but the Crowdfunder is still up and running for people to donate to.

Ben Pitt, the Director of St Neots Festival, said: "We couldn't be more delighted at the response we've had to this year's festival.

"The music was amazing, our Zones were bursting with creative energy, the sun shone (sometimes) and Priory Park was filled with thousands of smiling faces.

"It's been a rollercoaster ride to get here this year, but with hundreds of volunteers working their socks off, along with the wonderful support of local businesses, councils, community groups and Crowdfunder donors, we made something amazing happen.

"We wanted to bring some joy to the town we love - we weathered the storm and think we've achieved it."
