St Ives was visited by the Anglia in Bloom judges on Monday July 8.
Their tour started in the Norris Museum garden, followed by a stroll past the flowerbeds on both sides of The Waits and an interesting explore of Holt Island.
Next the judges visited Westfield Junior School to see the children’s planting and went to see the planters at Kings Hedges and the raised bed on Chestnut Road.
They particularly admired the new gardens in the Ramsey Road Cemetery and the recent community work at the allotments.
After a visit to the park and ride flowerbeds, they walked down Station Road, through The Courtyard, into the town centre.
They finished with a trip on the river kindly donated by the St Ives Electric Riverboat Company, before having lunch with volunteers of St Ives in Bloom.
Chair, Phil Davies, reported that: “The judges enjoyed the whole morning, and we look forward to doing it all again for the Britain in Bloom judges’ visit on July 31.”
