A fun, cycling-themed family event returns to Huntingdonshire this weekend, offering entertainment and sustainable travel inspiration.
The eagerly anticipated 'Wintringham on Wheels' offers a range of interactive cycling experiences, from trying out a variety of bicycles to personal bike safety checks.
Visitors will also be able to put their pedal power to the test by creating their own smoothies or making bubbles.
The event, which is organised in partnership with Go Travel, Wintringham's sustainable travel buddy, kicks off at 11am running through to 3pm on Sunday, July 14, at the school plaza.
It's all about promoting greener travel alternatives and inspiring the public to leave their cars at home.
Newbie or practiced cyclists, everyone's invited to test out a range of bikes.
Enjoy a 30-minute trial ride to see if the bike meets your needs.
The perfect trial grounds?
A leisurely route that loops around the first phase of Wintringham, spanning around 3.5km.
If you are worried about their own bikes, they can schedule a 'Dr Bike' session which will offer free bike checks courtesy of trained mechanics.
They will ensure the bike's tyres, brakes, and lights are primed for those summer rides.
Christine Littlewood, communities lead for Wintringham, said: “Our cycling event aims to inspire residents and visitors to explore the area in a more sustainable and eco-friendly way.
“Bring your friends and family and join us for a day of fun, fitness, and sustainability.”
The event is not just a drive towards sustainable travel but also a push towards personal health benefits and social connectivity.
People living in the area are also invited to sign up for Local Go membership, availing them to a range of active travel perks including a £50 cycle voucher.
The Wintringham on Wheels activities and bike hire sessions are free.
