The Woodland Trust is urging Cambridgeshire communities to register for free saplings in the Autumn before the application deadline.
In March 2024, 57,630 saplings were delivered across the East of England to schools, sports clubs and community groups to plant their own trees.
More than 7,000 were delivered and planted in Cambridgeshire.
The conservation charity are planning another sapling delivery for September 2024 and the application deadline closes on August 26.
Steve Shill, senior project lead at the Woodland Trust, said that "time is running out" to claim the free trees.
He added: "It’s a great way for schoolchildren and all sorts of community groups – from sports clubs to faith groups – to learn about the environment and do their bit.
“Trees help nature, combat flooding, provide shelter and reduce pollution. And they unite communities, inspire pride and bring huge benefits for mental wellbeing."

The trees come in packs of 15, 30, 105 or 420 saplings and in different varieties to suit their purpose.

The Woodland Trust began the scheme in 2010, and since then 15 million saplings have been planted across the country. The charity is hoping they can reach the 16 million milestone in 2024.
