A parish council has received a prestigious international award for a beloved playing field.
The QEII Playing Field in Little Paxton has won a Green Flag Award, recognition of its quality as a park and green space.
Little Paxton Parish Council has been commended for its team's hard work and dedication in maintaining the space for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme manager, Paul Todd MBE, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved at QEII Playing Field on achieving a Green Flag Award.
“The QEII Playing Field’ is a vital green space for communities in Little Paxton to socialise, enjoy nature, for children to play safely and it provides important opportunities for park users to improve their physical and mental health."
Chairwoman of Little Paxton Parish Council, Cllr Kathy Bishop, said: "We are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious award for the QEII Playing Field in Little Paxton.
"The QEII Playing Field is a focal point in the village and is enjoyed by residents."
The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces.
