A Cambridgeshire man who murdered his wife to pay off his debts has been jailed for life today (July 23).
Robert Hammond (47) killed his wife, Sian Hammond (46), so he could claim her life insurance and pay off the £300,000 debt he was in.
He murdered her at their home in Primes Corner, Histon on October 29, 2023.
Last week (July 17) at Cambridge Crown Court, a jury gave a unanimous guilty verdict to Hammond on a charge of murder.
Today, at the same court, Hammond was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 24 years.
