Cambridgeshire Police have released an audio clip of a hoax call they received over the weekend in Huntingdonshire.

On Sunday afternoon (July 21), Cambridgeshire Police arrived in the Hemingfords after they received a 999 call.

In the audio clip, the call handler can be heard saying, "Police emergency?", to which someone responds, "Ahhh, I'm getting killed!"

Officers were dispatched to the location that the call had come from and were met with a large group of young people who went to run off.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "When we receive a 999 call like this, we can't ignore it.

"Strong words of advice were given around hoax calls and how they can put other lives in danger.

"Please only use 999 in an emergency."
