The East of England Ambulance Service has launched an important conversation with the public about the future of its operation.

The service is looking to develop a strategy for the next five years so it can deliver the "best possible care" for people across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.

Cambridgeshire residents can sign up to the public conversation online by clicking here. They have until August 6 to share their ideas.

The conversation allows residents to look at the ideas so far and share what they think will work and won't work. They'll also be able to share their own ideas, comment on others, and vote on what matters most to them.

Already the service has spoken with more than 6,000 staff and volunteers to shape the future of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

The Trust has said that this is a "unique opportunity" for the public to influence how their local ambulance service operates.

EEAST's interim Chief Executive Officer Kate Vaughton said: "We are very excited to be launching the next stage in developing EEAST's Strategy 2025-30, which involves listening to the people and communities we serve across the east of England, as well as the stakeholders and partner organisations we work closely with.

"Now we want to hear from the patients we serve every day. Their opinion is invaluable, and it is only by gathering the views and ideas of the public that we can deliver an ambulance service that meets the needs of everyone.

"I encourage everyone in the east of England, whether they have used our service or not, to get involved and join the conversation between now and 6 August. Whether you have ever needed an ambulance or not, your opinion is important."
