In a sterling showing at the English National Summer Swimming finals, Chloe Butler and Tessa Quayle from St Ives Swimming Club made a splash, securing spots in the finals.

The competition, held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, last week, saw the athletes demonstrating remarkable skills and determination.

Miss Quayle made waves in the 16-year-old Girls 50m Breaststroke final, coming in an impressive 9th with a swift time of 35.49 seconds.

Moreover, she finished 22nd in the country for the 100m Breaststroke.

Miss Butler, competing in the 18 years plus Seniors events, didn't disappoint either.

She finished 14th in the 100m Breaststroke, 12th in the 200 Individual Medley, and clocked magnificent results in the finals.

She secured 7th in the 100m Butterfly and 5th in the 200m Butterfly, with a remarkable time of 2.23.00, having only ever swam this event five times previously.

Both athletes competed in the Olympic 50-metre pool in Sheffield, representing the highest level of national competition.

Their club is immensely proud, lauding their performances as exceptional in their endeavours to compete and final at such a prestigious event.
