The team behind the St Ives Christmas Lights Switch-on have given an exciting update as the summer sun draws to a close.

The festivities, including a Christmas market, will be held on Saturday, November 16.

The Christmas Market will open at 9am in the town centre and along Bridge Street. Local businesses are invited to have their own stall at the Market, which will be running throughout the day.

From 11am local performers and special guests, including Father Christmas himself, will be providing entertainment in the town. There is also set to be street performers throughout the day.

The lights will be switched on at 5pm.

The 2024 Lights Switch-on will also see a grand prize draw to help raise funds for the festivities, and the switch-on organisers are looking for local businesses to help sell tickets for the draw.

A spokesperson for the Christmas Lights Switch-on said: "Supporting the St Ives Christmas Lights event offers numerous benefits to local businesses, including increased footfall and heightened visibility.

"More importantly, it fosters community spirit and engagement, bringing people together in the true spirit of Christmas."

The team are also on the look out for more volunteers for the 2024 switch-on.

A spokesperson said: "If you would like to get involved this year and help make the St Ives Christmas Lights a special event for all, please visit our Facebook page for details on how to book a stall, sponsor the event, or make a donation: St Ives Christmas Lights Facebook."
