Construction work is set to start on a viaduct which will be built over the Great River Ouse as part of a series of major road upgrades.
National Highways has confirmed that the viaduct will form part of a new 10 mile dual carriageway on the A428 between the Black Cat Roundabout and Caxton Gibbet.
It will sit adjacent to the Black Cat Roundabout, in between Roxton and Little Barford.
The viaduct is set to provide "safe and uninterrupted travel" over the river. It will look like a long bridge over the river.
In the coming months, National Highways is set to go through various stages of the construction process.
They will be working with environmental agencies to make sure that local ecosystems are protected, as well as ensuring the construction is sustainable.
The building team will be driving piles into the ground to support the "massive structure" of the viaduct.
The team will also be placing beams and laying the deck to get the work started.
The viaduct is set to open to motorists in spring 2027, which is when the dual carriageway is also due to be open.
