Armed police officers were called to a street in Huntingdon today (September 3) in response to "resistance" from an individual.
Cambridgeshire Police officers were carrying out welfare checks on Ermine Street today in relation to cuckooing, which is the act of taking over the home of a vulnerable person to use it for criminal purposes.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police initially said: "At one address officers were met with resistance by the occupant. Armed Response Units attended, occupant engaged and no crimes were raised."
Since then, it has been confirmed that a man in his 50s was arrested.
The spokesperson said: "A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and possession of an offensive weapon. He is currently in custody."
