30 cars were hit with burst tyres on the A1 motorway yesterday (September 10), with a number of recovery vans also at the scene.
Cambridgeshire Police were alerted at 12:46pm to a number of vehicle swerving around an object on the A1M southbound near St Neots.
It emerged that the object was a metal ramp in the live lane and officers were called to the scene.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "Approximately 30 cars in the hard shoulder or nearby area with flat tyres were noted.
"One lane of the A1 was closed as a result."
The object was later discarded.
