The A428 will be shut over the weekend to allow for works to continue on the road, including the installation of speed cameras.
From 8pm on Friday, September 13 until 6am on Monday, September 6am, the A428 will be shut in both directions between the B1040 St Ives Road and the Caxton Gibbet roundabout.
The closure is in place to allow for 40mph speed restrictions to be installed, roadworks signs, safety barriers, narrow lanes, speed cameras and CCTV.
A signed diversion route will be in place, which will take drivers up St Ives Road, right at the roundabout, another right at a roundabout onto Ermine Street, and then back at the Caxton Gibbet roundabout.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Please plan your journeys accordingly and allow extra time. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work."
