A new barrier to reduce the impact of noise generated from a busy Cambridgeshire road is set to be installed.
National Highways are installing the noise barrier on the A1(M) near Eaton Ford, St Neots, to reduce noise from traffic reaching properties along Monarch Road and Duchess Close.
Work is set to begin on October 14 and is expected to be completed in March 2025.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Most of our work will be done on the grass beside the road and should not need any road closures or reduced speed limits.
"We do expect to have some overnight closures (9pm to 6am) on weeknights on the A1 southbound.
"We've listened to concerns about the new barrier obstructing views of the countryside, and we will be installing a transparent Perspex barrier in some sections."
A drop-in event is being held on Tuesday, September 24 from 2pm to 8pm on Monarch Road where samples of the noise barrier material will be displayed and member of the project team will be on-hand to answer questions.
