Independent candidate Barry Chapman has been elected as the new district councillor for St Neots Eatons following a by-election.
The ballot was called following the death of former councillor Graham Welton, with votes counted after the close of polls on Thursday, September 19.
Cllr Chapman received 531, followed by Liberal Democrat candidate Alan James Hunt who secured second place with 426 votes.
Conservative candidate Nigel Philip Eaton came third place, receiving 420 votes.
Only 1,626 out of 8,590 eligible to vote turned out, giving the ballot an overall turnout of 18.9 per cent.
