The 2024 Alconbury & District Village Show was a huge success with 80 classes for fruit, vegetables, flower arranging and food.

The event took place at the village's Memorial Hall on September 14. 

There were also prizes for preserves, photographs and handicraft as well as entries for youngsters.

The show committee, under the leadership of Liz Gabriolek worked hard to deliver this annual event and are happy to report a roaring success, with many positive comments from those attending.

On the day, there were 13 trophies and winners included Dave Mackrell and Sue Barber who won the Men’s and Lady’s cups for gaining most points overall and who both won other individual cups.

Other winners included Mike Clayton (photography), Liz Gabriolek (home produce), Jane Johnson (crafts), Dave Woods, Monica Pegg and Richard Riddell (individual exhibits) and Albert and Sophie Wells (junior cups).

The show will return early next September and the committee says: "We hope to see many familiar faces return as well as welcome some new competitors who fancy having a go."
