Three flood warnings issued for parts of Huntingdonshire remain in force today (September 25) after downpours in the district earlier this week. 

It comes as an updated weather warning for heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office. 

The yellow warning, which has been issued for much of England and Wales, will cover the whole of Cambridgeshire between 5pm on Thursday and 10am on Friday. 

The Met Office said some areas could see 20-30 mm of rain, and a few places may receive 40-60mm or more.

It also warned of potential power cuts, adding: "There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."

One red and two amber flood warnings were issued by the Environment Agency on Monday (September 23) and said river levels a "still rising" in response to recent heavy rainfall. 

Areas most at risk include Wyboston Lakes, School Lane in Eaton Socon, Hardwick Road and Springbrook in Eynesbury, The Paddock and Crosshall Road in Eaton Ford and River Terrace, Priory Lane, Chandlers Wharf, Brook Street, Church Street and Browns Square in St Neots.

Other affected areas include parts of Brampton, Earith, Fen Drayton, Fenstanton, Godmanchester and St Ives

Fenstanton, Fen Drayton, Swavesey, Godmanchester, St Ives, Brampton and Earith.

The Environment Agency warning stated: "River levels are continuing to rise slowly after recent heavy rainfall. Flooding is expected

"Further rainfall is forecast for Wednesday evening which will keep river levels high.

"Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger.

"We are monitoring the situation."
