A 'thank you' party and cheque presentation evening saw thousands of pounds donated to charities and local good causes in Huntingdonshire.
The organisers of the Buckfest Music Festival held the event at Buckden Village Club on Saturday, September 28.
The much-loved, multi-award winning festival donates profits from the event to local charities and good causes each year, and this year they will donate £12,500, bringing total donations of £115,000 since the festival’s inception.
The festival’s charity partners for 2024 were HCCN, The 3 Pillars Feeding the Homeless and The Angels Foundation - each received a donation of £2,500.
and Graham Heywood from HCCN both made emotive speeches on the evening thanking Buckfest for their donations which help to fund vital work within the local community.
Other recipients of donations from this year’s festival, included Buckden Explorers, St Neots Man Cave, Friends of Paxtion Pits, All Inclusive Football and Franki’s Flag to name but a few.
Further donations will be made to local good causes throughout the year to take the total to £12,500.
Buckfest’s founder Rick Holden said on the night: "Tonight is all about celebrating the fantastic contribution of our volunteers and sponsors, without whom Buckfest simply wouldn’t be possible.
"We are also really delighted to make donations to some wonderful local charities and good causes. Buckfest is all about bringing people together through music and supporting the local community, and we are proud of the part we play in doing that."
