Work is underway to expand a popular nursery in a Huntingdonshire town in a bid to meet rising demand for childcare.
Head Start Nursery is expanding its existing preschool into the former Lloyds Pharmacy building, which sits next to its existing site on Stocking Fen Road.
The new nursery room is set to open on January 9, 2025.
Carey Kelly, manager at Head Start Nursery told The Hunts Post: "We're now doubling in size due to high demand for places.
"At the moment, we have between 32 and 34 children which we're hoping to double to 68, which is a really positive step because there lots of houses being built in Ramsey.
"At the moment we have pre-school and toddlers mixed in one room and then the babies are in the nest. With this expansion, we'll be able to have individual rooms for each group.
Owned by the Golden Apples Group, which runs nurseries in Huntingdon, Eltisley and Suffolk, the expansion will "dramatically" increase the number of available places.

In addition to extra space, the new premises will feature a kitchen and "interactive walls" which can display a range of scenery.
Ms Kelly, who will manage the new premises, said response to the expansion was "incredibly positive", adding: "We're really excited for the extra space because at the moment space is very limited.
"Once the new nursery opens we'll have double the number of children and once the funding for different age groups filters through next year, we'll see an increase in demand.
"We've had lots of enquiries since announcing the expansion, especially for babies, and all our parents are going to come and have a look around the new site to see what it has to offer."
Lloyds Pharmacy relocated to 20 Great Whyte in August.
